Listen to the Voice of Love, Not Fear
In every situation, we can listen to the voice of love or the voice of fear. The voice of love, the voice of our deep self, connects us with the greater reality of Oneness. It knows that everything 'out there' is an aspect of the self, and that the universe is friendly and loving. It is the 'still small voice within'. It encourages us to grow, to expand, to reach out, to believe in miracles, to follow our Dreams. (The world may be filled with ego-selves, it can also warn us about potential dangers, ensuring we are not in the wrong place at the wrong time.)
Don't squash your fears down, since whatever we resist persists. Become aware of your fears without identifying with them - and send love to that fearful part of yourself. When you have fearful thought or slip into a 'thought attack', smile and call light to yourself - and choose loving, positive thoughts instead.
Visualize what you're afraid of and see yourself coping with it. That way, you won't have to make it happen!
Recognize that it has already happened. Many fears such as that of dying in childbirth, losing a child or partner, going blind, falling from a great height, losing your house in a fire - date back to past lifetimes. Relax and ask your deep self to show you what happened in that other lifetime; then reassure yourself that this lifetime is different, and your fear belongs to the past.
Imagine releasing fear and doubt in long slow out breaths, while breathing in the light of love and trust with each breath. Or imagine fear and doubt draining away each time you pull out the plug in your bath.
Anything which lifts your energy, raises your spirits, relaxes or inspires you will help you listen to the voice of love. Simply ask yourself: 'What is the voice of fear telling me in this situation? And What does the voice of love have to say?
