🌿 Persistence ≠ Respect

Many confuse persistence with respect. But persistence is about not giving up on your own goal, while respect is about honoring another’s boundary.

Persistence says: “I’ll keep trying until I get through.”
Respect says: “I’ll stop here because you said no.”

When persistence ignores a clear boundary, it stops being strength and starts being pressure. True respect doesn’t need to announce itself — it shows in character, in listening, and in restraint.

✨ Respect is not proven by how long you push, but by how well you pause when someone draws a line.

💼 Be the Boss of Your Boundaries
In job interviews, when a boss says no, we accept it and move forward. We don’t persist with the boss; we redirect and grow.

Online, though, many push past boundaries as if persistence earns permission. It doesn’t — it reveals disregard.

So, be like those bosses: firm, clear, calm. Say no once, mean it, and move on. Persistence doesn’t change respect — it tests it.
